Cucurbita pepo Kamo Kamo

Kamo Kamo or Maori gourd from New Zealand has an outstanding taste if it is harvested very young and prepared like courgettes together with the flower. Later in the season, it is an ideal marrow, either fresh or for storing for later use. It is approx. 15 cm in size and weighs about 500 grammes, and is also of course, very decorative. Being a strong trailing marrow, it produces many fruits per plant.

Cucurbita pepo Sweet Dumpling

This striking marrow is not only very decorative, but is also very tasty. The taste of the orange/yellow flesh is deliciously sweet and slightly chesnutty. The plant bears around 10 small fruits (approx. 8-12 cm). Its cream-white colour contrasts well with the dark-green stripes which run along the grooves. Sweet Dumpling is at its best up to 4 months after harvest. In the beginning, it is even edible like ?mange tout?, with skin and all. It is ideally suited for stuffing.
